Process Control Engineer

Candidates must be able to provide technical direction or leadership on a project basis for one to four process controls engineers and supervise and train project team members as necessary. Ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project leadership as well as the ability to develop and implement standard engineering practices, as well as provide detailed documentation upon project completion. Gap Engineering has a need for an Process Control Engineer with 10 years of experience working on large petrochemical or refining construction projects. This is a full time position to begin immediately. The ideal candidate will have specific experience working in the field on process plant, refineries, petro-chem or similar chemical plant construction projects. You will be responsible for design, configuration, integration and implementation of process control solutions for the petrochemical industry using new technologies, including electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems, using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment. Candidates will direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to establish continued compatibility with existing processes and systems and to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements. Candidates must be able to perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.

Education and Experience

1) A BS degree in Engineering from an accredited university is required. Quality of experience relates to how recently it was obtained and how closely or to what extent an applicant's background and experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must have the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level.

2) SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of progressive professional engineering experience. Employer accepts any suitable combination of education and experience. Applicants with a MS and three years of experience may be considered. Experience should be post-baccalaureate progressive experience in the petrochemical or related industry.
