Gap Engineering has a need for an Instrumentation and Electricall Engineer with 10 years of experience working on large petrochemical or refining construction projects. This is a full time position to begin immediately. The ideal candidate will coordinate all electrical and instrumentation construction efforts on large petrochemical and refining construction projects by interfacing with the site contractor's construction resources to design, develop, and
install appropriate electronic components, software, products or systems using computer-assisted
engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Candidates will also analyze system
requirements, capacity, cost, and customer needs to determine project feasibility and develop system plan.
In addition to this, candidates must have the ability to evaluate operational systems, prototypes and proposals and recommend repair or design modifications.
They will inspect completed installations of electronic equipment, instruments, products, and systems and observe
operations to ensure conformance to equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety
standard. Lastly, candidates will have to prepare documentation on hardware and software specifications, product development and
introduction schedules, product costs, and product performance weaknesses.
Education and Experience
1) Applicants must have a BS in Engineering from an accredited university and A MINIMUM OF FIVE years of progressive professional engineering experience. Quality of experience relates to how recently it was obtained and how closely or to what extent an applicant's background and experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must have the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies to successfully perform the work of the position at the ppropriate level.
2) SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of progressive professional engineering experience. Employer accepts any suitable
combination of education and experience. Applicants with a MS and three years of experience may be considered. Experience should be post-baccalaureate progressive experience in the petrochemical or related industry.
Ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project leadership as well as the ability to develop and implement standard engineering practices, as well as provide detailed documentation upon project completion.
